The film is set during the period in which the group have graduated high school, and are completely unsure of where they are heading to next. The film is seen from the point of view of a young woman named Isa who watches her friends slowly burn themselves out with the sheer boredom of living in rural Australia. Isa falls victim to her friends and the ways they decide to kill their time, and yet she doesn’t realise that the actions she has taken and that have been taken upon her, will shape her future forever. This story highlights the emotional isolation that comes with growing up and not knowing who you are and not having the room to experiment with that in such a small community.

Bully – Sean Windsor – Australia

Writer: Sean Windsor

Cast: Melis Selvi, Emily Thomas, Katherina Kajer

Synopsis: BULLY A documentary style drama A 14-year-old girl falls victim to both physical and emotional bullying. She overcomes her depression through boxing and forms an unlikely friendship with her attacker. AMY, a documentary filmmaker is producing a story on TALYA who has been attacked and mentally abused at school by RAYA. Over the course of 2 years, Amy documents Talya’s positive life changes and uncovers some confronting realities of abuse in Raya’s life. Amy was first drawn to Talya’s story when she saw footage online of Talya being physically beaten by a fellow student Raya. Seeing early interviews of the documentary with Talya and her family, it is evident the impact of the bullying caused an intense emotional breakdown, stress and anxiety for Talya and she had to be moved to another school. Some time passes and Talya has been making friends at her new school, forming positive relationships, she has started self-defence and is growing into a confident young girl. In an unlikely turn of events Raya and Talya, once rivals, are now friends. In the final moments of the film we are reminded that their relationship although beautiful is among the few, and that life is indeed short.

TICKETS: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/melbourne-indie-film-festival-2020-made-in-australia-thrilling-sunday-tickets-97438951527

$12.00 + Booking Fee @ Eventbrite

$15.00 door

Seats are limited

Advanced bookings highly recommended!

LOCATION INFO:

The Screening Room Upstairs

@ The Post St Kilda

Directions:

Tram Routes:

Number 3 or Number 67

Tram Stop 34

More Directions at: https://www.ptv.vic.gov.au/

Please note it is a licensed venue and everybody under 18 must be accompanied by their parents or adult guardian.

Program subject to change without notice.

Melbourne Indie Film Festival 2020 – Sunday 22nd March 6:30PM – Made in Australia Thrilling Sunday Book Your Tickets at: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/melbourne-indie-film-festival-2020-made-in-australia-thrilling-sunday-tickets-97438951527 Made in Australia Thriller Feature Film + Mixed Shors !
