The Festival will feature some of the best of independent cinema from around the world, including a mix of award winning films and outstanding emerging talent in the film industry.
The festival program will screen all genres of films – action, adventure, comedy, family movies, chick flicks, science fiction, thrillers, you name it!
The Melbourne Indie Film Festival will welcome filmmakers from all corners of the planet to join us at the screening events, while the public will also have the chance to meet the filmmakers and participate in the Q&A sessions.

Attention Filmmakers, Visitors & Fans:

The Melbourne Indie Film Festival would like to apologize for the delay in announcing the final selections and complete festival program.

Our programming committee have been dedicating lots of love to select the best films with a wide variety of genres and origins.

Also, due the large amount of amazing films from all around the world, we are doing our best to fit in as many films as possible in the program!

Putting all the pieces of the puzzle together to bring a magical program is taking a little bit of extra time, but it will be worth the wait!

The festival program is nearly ready!

Looking forward to seeing all of you at this amazing international event in which we will showcase some of the best of independent cinema from around the globe, right here, in the heart of Melbourne, at the Loop Cinema Space @ Loop Project, from the 8th till the 13th of July 2016!

Attention Filmmakers: You asked, we did it! Final Calls Indie Films Submission’s Deadline Extended!

Melbourne Indie Film Festival 2016 Extended Deadline Submissions EXTENDED until 1st of June 2016!

We got many requests by filmmakers to extend the deadline for all of those on final stages of post production looking to have the Australian premiere at the Melbourne Indie Film Festival 2016, so we listened, and we extended the final submission date till the 1st of June!

The Melbourne Indie Film Festival will take place from the 9th till the 14th of July 2016.

We reached the end of the Regular submissions period, although filmmakers can still submit films during the late deadline submission period, which is now open until the 30th of April 2016.

 

From the 30th of April 2016, the submissions will continue to be open until the 22nd of May 2016 for the extended deadlines period.

From the 31st of March 2016, the submissions will continue to be open until the 30th of April 2016 for the late entries period, then until the 22nd of May 2016 for the extended deadlines period.

The festival does not pay for mailing/shipping costs.

The Melbourne Indie Film Festival will take place from 9th – 14th July 2016 at the Loop Project Space, in the heart of Melbourne CBD.
